Clean-up Drive Melbourne

Background Information – 07th March was Australias Cleanup Day. Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat coordinated with the Clean up Drive organization for the event.

Purpose of the event – The main purpose of the event was to keep our surroundings and society clean.

Summary – Clean up drive was indeed a successful event. It lasted for 2 hours 30 minutes. The organization had provided flyers, cleaning gloves, rubbish bags for waste and recycling etc. The event was organized under Umoor us Sehat. 35 mumineen along with their kids participated in the event. The place selected was Gardiners Creek reserve which is a walking train from Box Hill South to Burwood. It was great fun for everyone as they thoroughly enjoyed cleaning the path and making a difference. Refreshments were served at the end of the event which included Brownies, Sandwiches and Drinks.

Outcome – Most parts of the creek were cleaned by mumineen. The rubbish included paper waste, cups, bottles etc.

Brief background of the participant ( country of birth, current residence, education, family history etc) – Muffadal Pardiwala was born in India and moved to Australia about 5 years ago. He lives in Melbourne with his baby girl and wife. He is a Software Engineer by profession and loves programming.

Contest or event /activity date – the Cleanup Australia Day Event was organized on 7th Mar 2021, with a view to doing our small part in keeping our country Beautiful

His / Her Interests – Muffadal loves to go for walks, play tennis and soccer, and spend time with his daughter

Reason for participation – When we go for walks in Australia, we feel proud that we live in such a beautiful country. But along with the country, it’s also the people of this great nation who keep this country beautiful. Doing our small contribution in this amazing work is something that is of great pride to me and my community.

Future Goals – Try to organize such events on a regular basis and do my part in keeping the country clean.
