After months of planning, Melbourne is launching its very own inaugural Saifee Burhani League (SBL).

This exciting cricket event will be held on an annual basis.

Commencing on 29th Jan 23, Season 1 will see 3 Zones battle it out for the winning title, with the Mega Final scheduled for 19th of March That’s right, 7 weeks of pure thrill!

NORTH-WEST KOOKABURRAS vs SOUTH-CENTRAL WALLABIES vs EASTERN KANGAROOS – which team is going to be the first SBL Champion.

RULES:

• 100 balls per innings – 20 overs of 5 balls each.
• Batting will be from one end only – Batters to swap positions end of each over.
• Each bowler can deliver a maximum of 4 overs (20 balls) per game.
• A batter will be retired after scoring 30 and can return if the rest of the team is out.
• If multiple batters are retired, the order of return will be based on the retirement order.
• A 25-ball power play is given to each team – First 5 overs
• Minimum 4 fielders are required to be in the circle at all times
• Two fielders are allowed outside of the 30-yard circle during the power play.
• All standard rules apply for wides, no-balls and free hits.
• Every Team will play 4 league games and score 2 points for a Win, 1 for Tie/NR and 0 for a loss.
• Incase teams are tied on points, the team with the better Net Run Rate will be ranked higher.
• Minimum 5 overs (each innings) are required for a match to qualify for a result.
• Rain affected matches may be decided with the DLS method.
